Do you have a kitchen in need of a facelift but don’t have the budget to do a complete refit? Perhaps you are looking to renovate your investment property and don’t want to overcapitalise?

If you have a kitchen featuring benches with bright or busy colours it can really date the whole look. If your bench tops are still in good structural condition then why not simply refresh the look for a fraction of the price?

Your kitchen benches will come out looking brand new and you’ll have plenty of money left in the kitty.

Rust-Oleum Countertop Transformations

The Rust-Oleum Countertop Transformations product is a complete kit that will allow you to DIY your kitchen bench renovation and you can purchase it from Bunnings for around $250.

From the Rust-Oleum website:
“Rust-Oleum Countertop Transformations® is the simple, affordable and hassle-free way to transform your worn or damaged laminate countertops into beautiful, durable, new counter surfaces – in a weekend and without the hefty mess and high cost of countertop replacement. This revolutionary do-it-yourself coating system gives your countertops the permanent look of natural stone products. The results are stunningly beautiful, and we guarantee you’ll love the long-lasting, premium quality finish. Just sand, roll, spread, smooth, seal and enjoy! It’s never been simpler or more affordable to update the look of your kitchen, bath or entertainment areas.”

I haven’t tried the product myself but one of Australia’s top renovators Cherie Barber from Renovating for Profit has posted a comprehensive demonstration of the product that is definitely worth watching.
